From One Doula to Another

 

Mentorship for aspiring and newly trained doulas looking for honest guidance, practical support, and real-world insight from a seasoned birth worker. Whether you’re exploring doula work for the first time, deciding between trainings, or newly certified and unsure how to actually get started, these sessions are designed to give you grounded, experience-based support. We can talk about the realities of the work, building confidence with clients, navigating birth spaces, local insider knowledge, boundaries, advocacy, postpartum support, business basics, avoiding burnout, and anything else you wish someone had told you sooner.

Perfect for those wanting a single session to ask questions, process experiences, or receive guidance on specific topics.

  • Choosing the right doula training

  • What doula work is really like

  • Starting your doula business

  • Finding clients and networking locally

  • Supporting different birth experiences

  • Hospital culture and advocacy

  • Client communication and boundaries

  • Preparing for your first births

  • Building confidence and avoiding burnout

A La Carte Session $120 for 90 Mins

Includes 3-90 minute mentorship sessions plus the opportunity to:

  • Shadow one prenatal meeting

This package is for Doulas who are wanting more conversation time and to observe a real time client meeting.

Includes 6-90 minute mentorship sessions plus the opportunity to:

  • Shadow one prenatal meeting

  • Potentially shadow part of a birth experience*

This package is ideal for newer doulas wanting both conversation and hands-on exposure to the flow of client support and birth work in real time.

Extended Mentorship Package $1000

Includes 9-90 minute mentorship meetings support plus the opportunity to:

  • Shadow two prenatal meetings

  • Potentially shadow part or all of a birth*

  • Attend a postpartum check-in visit

Designed for doulas wanting a more immersive learning experience and deeper understanding of continuity of care from pregnancy through postpartum.

Virtual Mentorship Package $320

Includes 3-90 minute mentorship sessions plus the opportunity to:

  • Attend one virtual prenatal meeting

This package is ideal for doulas wanting to remain Covid cautious and limit in person exposure, or for Doulas who may not be local to me and therefore unable to attend births or in person meetings with me.

Group Mentorship

If two or more Doulas are wanting mentorship and would like a discounted rate for group sessions please inquire! Group mentorship will not include shadowing opportunities.

*a la carte meetings can be added on to any package

*Shadowing opportunities are dependent on client estimated due dates, client consent and comfort with an apprentice doula present, and hospital policies regarding multiple support people. Birth center births are typically more flexible regarding additional support attendance. If you attend part of a birth with me and the client consents to you providing hands on support alongside me I will offer you two future 90 minute mentoring sessions free of charge for your work, a stipend for your time*, and fill out/write any letters of recommendation you need towards certification. 

*Stipend amount dependent on client fee rate and amount of hours attended

Bereavement Doula Training

PAILAdvocate Training created by Nneka Hall the founder of Mother is Supreme and Quietly United in Loss Together, and a nationally recognized leader in Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support and Black Maternal Health. Deepen your practice with specialized bereavement training, available both in Self-Paced and Live Online in person group trainings. This curriculum is comprehensive and designed for doulas who understand it is vital to be trained to provide conscious, compassionate and well informed support during pregnancy and infant loss.
